This is not recently read book, but I did read it this year. SInce I’ve got a few Murakami books in my reading queue I might as well make use of the tag… 😋 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I gave this book 3 stars, but as in 3.5 stars… it was a short weird story. Here some review/summary of it. It was originaly written in spanish, so I’ll leave the spanish version at the bottom. Time flows slower after the sun has set. This book story happens in one night, a weird night, but maybe all nights are this strange but one’s never there to witness its anomalies. In this story we’re with the author, and together we’re a bodiless being that overflies a handfull of people in Tokyo City. We watch them go about in their nightly doings and interactions. Everybody bears no apparent relation to one another, but at the same time, the night unites them all... This book, OMG this book!! I’ve been wanting to read this book ever since I read about it on Goodreads (I think it was GoodReads), basically it said the book was about an impossible heist attempted by a bunch of people that did not get along… it got me! Long time no see! I’ll try to be brief with this one, because it’s taking me very long to write reviews/summary and I’ve been reading more books than the ones I write about! The book name is My Sister’s Grave written by Robert Dugoni, and it is the first one of the series of Detective Tracy Crosswhite’s stories? cases? ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I gave this book 3 stars on Goodreads, but is more like 3.5 stars… but I don’t feel like giving it 4 that means 3.5…. you know what I mean? Ok, so I read this book in Spanish and the name was La sustancia del mal, which sort of translates to The substance of evil (or something along those lines…) and I have to say, I didn't get it (the Spanish title…), it was mentioned once, and still I didn't get it. At least the English title "Beneath the Mountain" is more identifiable in the story than the Spanish one but well, in the end it doesn’t matter very much. Frist, this week covers from today to 7 days back… meaning from July 12 to July 18, 2017. Well actually this week was a good week, first, it was my niece’s 6th birthday! and I asked some days off from work and spent the whole day with her and she loved it! =) We went to a place called Kidzania, which is a small city for kids where they can play to be adults and work and earn money… (haha if they knew) But it was actually a good excercize for my niece because she had to follow orders either way but have fun at the same time! Since november of 2016 I joined a Book Club in my city, it has been so fun! I’ve made a lot of friends and I’m also reading a lot and I’ve been able to chat with my friends about the books that I love and the ones I don’t. In all honesty, I read this book because I was morbidly curious. Some friends of mine started telling me about this story and how it was kind of forbidden but very good, and I had been looking for a story like this… but I wanted a good one, and specially, one with a good ending! I love good endings, even if they’re forbidden! haha So I started it about 3 or 4 days ago, and I couldn’t put it down! It is written in frist person by one of the characters and everything is from her point of view. It starts with a seemingly perfect, beautiful family that is suddenly struck with the death of the father. The mother, being all prettily useless, decides that since she’s never learned how to work they’ll best go beg on her parents mercy and wealth. From there we know something’s not right becuase the kids never knew their mother actually had a family (even though the oldest is 15 y/o), either way they go and things go from bad to worse from there. So, I finished reading the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer today for the 2nd time and I have to say, there hasn’t been a book that catches me like this in a long time! I loved it! The Lunar Chronicles are a series of 4 main books as follows: 1. Cinder 2. Scarlet 3. Cress 4. Winter And 2 extra books of stories… 1. Stars Above (a compilation of stories that are set before, in the middle and after the storyline of the the 4 books above) 2. Fairest (Story about Levana.. Me gusta mucho leer, pero tristemente no es un habito al cual le dedique mucho de mi tiempo. Me gustan las historias, mas que textos inspiracionales, filosóficos o ilustrativos.
